Monthly Success Report January 2023 – Pascagoula High School

Student Success Story (SSS)

My story this month is centered all around my phenomenal students that are now gainfully employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding. These students were determined and they succeeded. So far, they are all doing well and enjoying their jobs but getting used to the early morning hours. I had a mother of one of my students who just cried tears of joy and was so appreciative of the connections and efforts that were made to ensure her daughter will still be successful and have a plan, December graduates sometimes get the short end of the sticks with such a huge gap between December and May and really no one to assist them in developing and creating a career path, well our Career Coaches worked hard with our Supervisor David Fava and Ingalls to ensure that they had a plan. I am so thankful that they were able to go directly into the workforce.

Enrolled: This month we had students that presented their acceptance letters to several universities. FAFSA is at 36% we are working to increase that number by April 1st, our next FAFSA day is scheduled for February 7th.

Employed: 6 students started at Ingalls on January 12th
