The Jackson County Economic Development Foundation hosted Jackson County’s “P3: Passion, Purpose, Paycheck” career coaches yesterday and coordinated their visits to American Baitworks and the Trent Lott International Airport (TLIA) to learn more about jobs available in the fishing tackle/custom manufacturing and aviation sectors, respectively. The JCEDF works to ensure direct relationships between career coaches and industry partners so Jackson County students can find gainful employment here at home.
At the TLIA, the coaches met with interim executive director Cinnamon Snyder and Tim Thomas from Southern Sky Aviation, learning about careers in this space as well as meeting with Redcel Aviation which offers pilot license training.
American Baitworks is no stranger to the JCEDF, as the Foundation partnered with the company to successfully locate their operations in Jackson County at Sunplex Light Industrial Park. This homegrown operation manufactures fishing tackle, lures, and bait that is packaged and distributed to anglers across the globe.
