Student Success Story (SSS)
Through our partnership with the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, two of our VHS students had the opportunity to learn more about the intersection of science and the arts and how their artistic talents can be used as a medium for telling their stories and making positive change for the environment. They were able to take part in a beach cleanup, hosted by the MSU Extension center, and learn about the impact of single-use plastics within our waters. Afterward, they were given a director-led tour of the Walter Anderson Museum, joined a workshop on storying through videography, and were offered personal assistance on an entry to the National Geographic Slingshot competition—a chance to win $10,000. One of our students took part in the competition and is hoping to hear back about the results soon!
