Student Success Story (SSS)
For the month of February, I was able to discuss with several students the importance of completing their FAFSA. I was able to assist at least 5 students with getting this completed. The Chevron Ambassador Program was able to speak to all the CCR classes in the library and presented the opportunities and pathways to working for Chevron ( See pictures below). I assisted student BJ with completing his application for MGCCC and his housing application as well. Another student PS was undecided on what to major in college and discovered that he would like to work at Chevron. He completed his college application for Process Management and will be attending in the Fall of 2023. Lastly, a December JM did not meet the age requirements during the Ingalls Hiring Event in December of 2022. However, he was determined that he wanted to work at Ingalls. Due to some circumstances, he was not able to get hired in January because of a failed drug screen. He was able to retest within two weeks and passed his drug screen and will be starting at Ingalls on March 9.
